Sitting down at my computer each week to write something that will be informational, or uplifting to you is not an easy task. I want you, as a reader, to get something out of each of my articles, make you think or help you understand something about yourself. I hope that it’s working and that you are enjoying reading Praise Points each week.
Just this past week I had lunch with an old high school friend and we are the kind of friends that no matter how long it’s been since we spoke, we just pick up like we just saw each other yesterday. We talked over all of the stuff in our lives and here’s something that came out of our visit I want to share with you ….You can’t buy what’s not for sale ( that’s a true Jamieism) and I started thinking about the real meaning behind this ism. Most of us gals have spent the better part of our lives trying to do just, buying what just isn’t for sale, could be love, attention, affection, respect, kindness, practically everything in our lives. Maybe I’ve watched too many Dr. Phil programs but the statement really is true You Cannot Buy What’s Not For Sale.
A lot of us want things in our lives usually from our spouses or children and no matter how hard we try we just do not get back what we are looking for. WE can spend our money, our time, even our health but if the other person is not willing, it’s not going to happen. So I’m thinking, what’s the point of this????
My point is that we have spent so much of our time, money and effort trying to get those things in our lives that we really want but will never really get, that we need to stop…yes, take a look at the situation and resolve, no more. If I could have bought the things in my life I really wanted, I would have them by now and I think everyone of you reading this understand the underlying message here and if you don’t give me a call and I’ll work you through it. Just remember I said it first and I said it right here in the South Knox Seymour Times, You cannot buy what is not for sale. Take a rest from in and give yourself a break and remember that God’s love does not have those conditions that the love of others has, only that we love Him back and that doesn’t cost us a cent. John 3:16..For God so loved the world that he GAVE His only begotten Son…
